#### 8.11 Singer

##### 8.11.1

The Singer keyword represents a static ability that allows a player to pay an alternate cost to sing a song. Singer N means “This character can! to pay the alternate cost of a song card as though they had cost N instead of their normal ink cost.”

##### 8.11.2

This character counts as cost N only to sing songs and only during the process of playing a card. The character’s ink cost doesn’t change.

##### 8.11.3

If an effect says a character “counts as having +N cost to sing songs” and is applied to a character with Singer, the number from Singer is combined with the +N to get the total cost the character counts as to sing songs. Example: Ursula – Vanessa is at the location Atlantica – Concert Hall. Ursula is a cost 2 character with Singer 4. Atlantica has an ability called Underwater Acoustics that reads, “Characters count as having +2 cost to sing songs while here.” These combine, so Ursula counts as having a cost of 6 for singing songs.
